Unless they have a somewhat sophisticated look, I think wreaths are a bit passé but it depends on the style of the home. If the 'expensive' door leads into an expensive home I'd say no... I'd go with urns or tubs on either side of the door (or just one depending on available space) filled with greenery. Good luck with the stage!
