I typically use the smaller drains near the back wall lot the shower, however in this case I wanted the water from the doors to drip straight into it and I used the larger drain to be sure to capture the water so that it wouldn't continue into the rest of the room.

They do have lots of options inclusion some that will "hide" under tile and really blend in.
