What is this wood?

wood on the stair steps is gorgeous. Is this from solid slabs or glued? Is it a stained ... fir? thanks

It looks like a white or red oak with a stain. All stair treads are lamination's of three to six pieces of wood. When they are laminated it prevents cupping and twisting, which can happen with a wide board.

The stair treads that you see pictured here are original - I just had them stripped and then stained to match the new adjacent hard wood flooring. I apologize but I do not know the species of wood.
