I'm finishing up my first kitchen remodel and I need the help of the Houzz community for lighting. I have four switched circuits for the space. One for under cabinet, one for peninsula pendants (or other fixture), one for general, and one more for ????. Transformers are in place for 2 of the circuits. The space has open beam ceilings that range from 9' to 13' in the kitchen zone. I planned on track lighting on the ceiling to light the cabinets and provide general light. A friend in the biz, alerted me to the fact the lighting pattern from tracks lights on a sloped ceiling would be irregular and that the upper row of upper cabinets (which is full depth) would cast a shadow on the lower row of uppers and the countertop. She suggests cable lighting with lamps directed at the center of each of the uppermost upper cabinets. Is that my best bet? I have never been a fan of cable lights.

Under cabinet lighting is already in place and working great with LED tape. However, the upper most uppers could benefit from under cabinet lighting as well. I tried a WAC LedME low profile puck light recessed under the cabinet (must be recessed in order for lower upper door swing to be unobstructed) and it didn't have enough lumens to light the countertop 37" below. In addition, it was too bright when one looked up into it. Is there any solution for this space? Any way for the lower uppers to have light on their fronts? Maybe I should just put lighting inside the cabinets themselves??? I am worried about the shadows the upper most uppers will cast.

I also need suggestions for peninsula lights. My sense is that they need to help define the space of the kitchen which is in a large room that will have a dining area in it's other half. The cabinets are glossy white, the countertops are pure white Caesarstone, and the backsplash is sheet glass in a citron color. The photos show the green paint colors I'm trying out for the backsplash. The floor is a warm hardwood. The stools shown are only temporary and will be replaced when the peninsula lighting fixtures are selected. The rest of the house is a bit bold color wise. Charcoal gray and burnt orange paint on the walls along with lost of white walls filled with colorful, modern art. I like it that way and would welcome a stunning fixture to light my peninsula. The hanging height over the center of the peninsula is 13' from the floor. The counter height is 3'
