Help with our "meh" living room?!

Our second bathroom is small and very plain. It includes a shower/tub combo and single vanity. How can we utilize the room for storage and WOW users, if you will?

As a note, what looks to be a cabinet to the left of our toilet is in fact our water heater.

Painting the walls will help wow users. The floor tone should be taken into some consideration there . . looks like it m ight be sort of mauve pink gray? Something in the lavender greige family might work. Bigger brighter art, possibly an open shelf across from the toilet, high enough not to intefere with setting tub temp . . I like your mirror, but a high end medicine cabinet is about all the storage potential you have in here I'm afraid. If neither one of you use it regularly, that expense really isn't warranted.

Great ideas...medicine cabinet is installed on the right of the vanity (out of the photo) and the tile apparently doesn't photgraph well :) it's a beige/ivory travertine

I see the tone of the shower curtain - a muted blue green would be gorgeous and well, watery .. .. You might paint the casework by the tub the same tone as the espresso casework, possibly use the ikea espresso lack shelf between door and tub - up at 6' so you can still have a towel rack and art below .. .I think a great piece of art gets studied more from the throne . .

If I were to use a blue/green shower curtain AND decide to paint the walls, any suggestions there? What about wall paper?

how about wallpaper? new shower curtain and bath mat (the colors you have now i think are too boring with the tile/vanity - maybe something that pops more ?) shelf above the toilet where photo is. new bath accessories..

Maybe a stencil instead? Easier to scrub than wallpaper. . . royal design stencils has neat options

Paint or use wallpaper. The WOW effect will be there. New shower curtain to match walls. There are many wallpapers on market see books wherever they sell paint. Try Lowes. Go dramatic. Like a black and silver metallic. It's a bathroom you. Can go a little crazy. By looks of this room you like very conservative looks. Now it's time to step out of the box.

Remove all from vanity top. Just have a very nice soup dispenser. In color to match walls.

What color are floors? You could cover with a big area rug. IKEA sells some not expensive. Like a black shag. Or replace floors to match walls just lighter. A slate would be nice. 18x18"
