Idevoks Design used our printed translucent stretch ceiling material to create this backlit corner mural. We can print any high resolution image on our material, and we take care of installation for you.

I would consider draperies and a chair.

OK, I'll stretch the limits here... Remove the brick. Nothing is to scale in that room. Consider an integrated built-in system, book shelves, flat screen tv area, and small corner "desk" area for pc, etc. Also add some nice window treatments. I think you need something larger in scale to balance the vaulted ceiling and surrounding area. Not sure what back side of room looks like, but what about a sectional that backs up to the windows and wraps around where your existing couch is?

A fiddle leaf fig plant would add some life to that corner

I like the idea of a plant. I've seen a couple that have caught my eye at Home Depot wondering what the up keep for them is and does it look dumb to have a palm looking tree inside my home in MN? Some of my decor is beachy feel and Aqua/teal colors.

I think an oversized canopy chair or wing back would look nice. otherwise consider a large wooden dividing screen that compliments the tile/brick behind the TV.

I have a few blog posts that may interest you.

i like the idea of a chair in the corner but it wouldn't make much sense since it is not facing TV. Drapes would make a huge difference, ceiling to floor in a warm color that brings out the stone. A large vase, 3 -4 feet high with thick brown/red bamboo sticks would look great in corner. pier 1 has many of these. Having said all this, I think you would see a big difference with drapes.

I would have to agree with Ferraro Builders. Getting rid of the brick and putting a built in entertainments center will give your room a better look and would add storage to your home. Tailored Livings does custom designs that can show you how your room looks before you purchase. On the windows, you can add a set of nice blinds. Budget Blinds has a huge variety that would complement the rest of the home. All of a sudden your living room becomes your favorite room in the house.

Unless this is a home theater dedicated to TV and nothing else, I like a chair too, perhaps with a small table and a slim standing light. This would work very well if your ever want to turn the TV off to either read or have a conversation with company. It just brings a welcoming feel as well as one more function to the room.

Agree with others that drapes and a chair or some tall item (such as a basket with bamboo sticks or a large plant) would help balance the brick.
I would use curtains in a reddish brown that matches the darker color in the bricks and a tall palm type plant in a basket look pot. It would have to have a base for protection of the flooring though. You have a swordfish on display and he looks happy there in your room so why not another bit of tropical decor?

It looks like that may be a large basket in the corner already so a plant could be set inside (with a waterproof liner). A fish tank CD could be played on your TV for fun and is less work than the real thing ( :

We decided to not go the big storage entertainment center along that wall for price.

Insail- I like the idea of a big Palm in the corner just nit sure if that's a good look or not. I LOVE the palm idea! But I could look into a nice big vase with some sticks in it if that would be better. I will def look for friends for the swordfish to add to the room now with spring decor coming out! Any ideas for what to add to coffee table. Nothing too tall or wobbly as I have kids running abound the coffee table.

I also have a bad feeling about long drapes on the window again due to the kids. Um I have white wooden blinds on the front window opposite that naked window. I could just do that again or would some sort of pattern/design roman shades look good. Not sure if I need to stay with the same white blinds as on the front window.

Here is the front of the room looking out the front window with the white wood blinds.
