HELP with wall in living room

I think the current console table that I have to the right of this doorway is to small. I would like some ideas to create balance on the two walls. The picture to the left of the doorway won't be moved. PLEASE, any suggestions for the right side...photos, new console...if new console, what color thickness, should I angle. The wall is 43 inches and the one to the right that compliments it is 54 inches. Thanks

Move the lamp to the table next to the sectional for reading, and replace the console with a more useful espresso display and storage piece similar in height and width to the artwork across from it. Many of these have lighting incorporated in them. The console is very nice, and might even work in the adjacent office, but you are right. It is getting lost in a space with otherwise large-scale furniture and dark leather and wood accents, and is really not serving as adequate display space.

What about somethinglike this? I don't want to spend alot of money on a large closed cabinet.

No, I was thinking more of something with shelving above to display family photos, and closed storage below.

And a bit taller to balance the artwork.

I agree that something taller with an espresso finish would look better there. It would mimic the tree trunk in your art, as well as your other espresso finish furnishings. Maybe a bookcase? If you have Craigslist locations near you, search for used bookcases or armoires. You could always paint something if it was not the right color. Nice room!

Thanks!!! Would something like this work... Only 22 in wide and 63 high

    That wall is 43 wide

I think the style and height work, but it may be a little narrow. 34-36" wide would probably be better. How wide is the painting?

The console looks too airy, a solid cabinet in a med/dark finish would be best. Hang a mirror above cabinet, add a small lamp too perhaps.

Sorry, but the art needs to move to the wider wall. It's too big for the wall it's on. It may be too big for the wider wall, too, but it will be better there.

Yes, the art will be great over the console on the right with nothing on the left side. I'm wondering why you wouldn't want to move the art to that bigger wall?

Oh, you're right grover, the art is too big to go over furniture.

I think you just need a console table with more substance. I'd go for something rustic and chunky, stained VERY dark.

I like your art, can I ask where you found it?

I would leave everything as it is in your main photo. I would simply add a picture to the right hand wall which is sized so the top frame is the same height as your tree picture. It can be more of a horizontal shape so it barely breaks the line of the lamp, but is part of that entire vignette.
Tape some paper there to get an idea and post another photo for us.
Can you walk into the room behind the couch where that tree picture is, or is that a "dead end" there?

I think that the art size is fine! Why don't you put a tall silk palm tree on the right side of the doorway?
