Dan, Ref the interior, when the barn wood is installed, is it directly nailed over dry wall of just over the cross firing strips over the 2 x 4s? Did the barn wood come directly from a salvaged barn or did you have to treat it before installing. Exterior, did you apply tar paper underneath the barn wood, or another weather proofing? Final question- when there were fresh cuts in the barn wood, how would you "age" the edges to match. Thanks so much, you and your team have amazing vision and talent!

I have read that you can leave steel wool in vinegar overnight and then brush on the vinegar and that gives the wood an aged appearance.

Without a great deal of elaboration the planks are repurposed from a barn; no additional finish was applied allowing the natural patina of the wood to work its magic. Carefully consider your cuts before fixing in place. D.

I know it’s been a long time, Dan, but is there a particular brand of marine varnish you recommend? Does it matter? Will it harden the wood a little more?
