Even if just the two of us trade it could be fun!
I wanted phlox and didn't get around to getting those seeds, and some other things you hope to have!

Actually these are all plants that are estblished that I need to divide this year. I haven't even listed my sprouts yet!
Noticed your post on the wintersowing forum.. good going. I would need to stay within the city limits for this trade... probably only have a couple hours on a week end morning.

I have more Lychnis Coronaria than I know what to do with, and would be happy to share. It is strikingly pretty and quite tough. I've also got a few clumps of Siberian Irises (not sure about the variety; passed along from my mother, and who knows where she got them) that need dividing. Plenty of vinca too, free for the asking. I am considering abandoning my Philadelphus experiment (not enough room) too, so if anyway is interested in it...

I think we can manage an in city swap! I would love a Philadelphus! And many other things mentioned.
George was thinking of Union Square. I would do that. I'd rather a Brooklyn park, Prospect Park, or Sunset Park. But I'll go anywhere. The closer it is the more I can bring. I think I'll be able to charm a ride and a helper in which case some where with Parking would be great.
George are you near Union Square? As you don't have much time, maybe that is the best.
How about you others?

I am fairly close to Union Square, but if the others in the trade are closer to Brooklyn I can certainly make it to one of the Brooklyn parks near a subway stop fairly easily.
Is Saturday May 2 a good day for people? Seems a long way off but it's perfect transplanting time.
Any thoughts?

MMMMMM a swap time on May 2 is a great idea.. surely there will be a bit of spring about by then.. I'd love to go..nowhere near any of the parks on the Saturday in May will have good parking.. IMHO too many ball games going on.. I could volunteer Carroll Park in Brooklyn.. right at the " F " [4 th stop into Brooklyn ] line no walking near resturants .. food.. beverages.. parking usually available..
If we don'tget enough plants.. we can make a side trip to the nurseries in Red Hook.. like the great Liberty Sunset Nursery.. they will be in full warp mode by then..now it's just tropicals and house items inside mostly..
for plants.. we'll see what's returned.. and has rooted by then.. but surely some
Brugmansia.. the angels trumpets.. needs full sun and plenty of food..over winters inside
Plumeria.. the Hawaiian lei flower.. needs over wintering inside..

As far as the plants go...
I propose that as things get closer to May 2, we keep either an updated list here, or list what we have to trade on our own trade pages. It would be helpful to know what people are interested in so that we only have to bring those plants that we are sure others want. (Of course we can bring a few bonus plants if so inclined)
Sun is out.. Daffs are in bloom...Perennials are popping...and sprouts!

I'm a bit new at this, so I have only a short list to trade, but I'd love to join in if it's possible.

I have the following to trade:
Shasta daisies (1 or 2 clumps)
Sedum, I think Autumn Joy (1 or 2 clumps)
Day lilies (orange) - these will grow anywhere and love to multiply!
Lemon balm (several clumps - I just ripped up a whole bunch and put it in containers - I didn't know about growing mints in beds my first year! Ha.)
Don't get me wrong, lemon balm IS really lovely, and will grow anywhere. I'm just planning on keeping it in containers from now on since it loves to spread. :)

rue_lepsius, I would LOVE a Lychnis Coronaria.
And gee_oh_nyc , I have a shady spot that is desperately calling for a Fern Leaf Bleeding Heart.

OK, everyone. With the rain factor, we thought we would keep it simple and meet at the steps of the entrance to the park at Smith and President Streets (This is the closest entrance to the subway stop: F train/ G train)
We're shooting for 11 am, though Jim said he might be a little late.
Thanks Gordon for making specific requests from my list... it will make it easier for me to know what to bring.
I'm bringing some bonus plants/seedlings in case we get any other folks joining us.
Still time to join... specific requests to each person helps in preparing the plants to bring.
