Help! Pruning neglected apricot tree...

I've recently moved in to help my elderly father and have been trying to get the yard under control. I'm new to pruning and have no idea where to start with this apricot. It produced a lot of apricots last year which were very hard to get down from the high branches.

Can anyone guide me on how to prune this tree?

Hi Sabrina12. That tree doesn't look in too bad of shape. It could use some pruning for sure but nothing horrible. Here is a pruning tutorial from youtube that may help you out. I would wait till Summer to prune your apricot due to a disease called eutypa.
