Was cutting a dead pine tree a few weeks ago and my saw started acting up. Would idle fine but wouldn't run at WOT to cut. It would just bog and die. These are the same symptoms my string trimmer had and a carb rebuild fixed that. So far I have:

1) rebuilt carb (original to the saw and it's >10 years old so it was due) I replaced the welch plugs as part of this (Walbro carb) and think I got them good.
2) replaced fuel lines. These were original and crumbly also.
3) Checked air filter- good.
4) checked spark- good.
5) confirmed fuel lines are routed properly.
6) Quick and dirty thumb over the hole compression test seems OK.
7) Set H/L screws at 2 turns out.

Had saw runnig for a few seconds at a time there for a minute, but it wouldn't stay running long enough for me to adjust mixture. Now it doesn't even try.

I only paid $25 for the saw a long time ago and it had very little use then. So I obviously don't want to sink much more money than the $15 I have invested so far.

Can anyone else recommend some other things I can try or see anything i am doing wrong? I'm not a 2 stroke expert, but have had decent luck working on them in the past.
