That something that I have seen on my bulbs too and they are fine. It's like a seam. One layer just abruptly ends!

Make sure and post photos when it blooms!

Your bulb looks perfectly healthy with good roots to boot!! You should enjoy your flowers and don't forget to post your photos when it blooms!

Almost ready to open Opal star on the left and ruby star on the right. Both seem be to very vigorous growers.

I know it's to late, but I still wanted to comment on that "split". It's just a bulb layer that only halfways covers the bulb. It should die rather soon and is easily peeled off. Those are, if I am correct, these so called semi sheathing leaves, in whose axillary the new scape will be developed.
