Lol, garf....that is so funny. I'm laughing WITH you, not at you. Did you go away for a few days or something?

That can happen if Tomato Hornworms are left alone. I have seen the plants recover from that much devastation but have also seen them die. Give the plant a few days and see if it sends out new growth.

This pic is a couple of months old. It died and was pulled. One plant of the group of 4 managed to survive a Miami summer and now has 2 babies on it with 3 groups of blooms. I need to fight the spider mites without killing the plant.

Spraying plants infested with Spider Mites can benefit with misting, and/or strong sprays of water. From the article linked below, "In gardens and on small fruit trees, regular, forceful spraying of plants with water often will reduce spider mite numbers adequately. Be sure to get good coverage, especially on the undersides of leaves."

Far from being an expert, it is my belief that the hornworm loves to feast on any and all of the Solanaceae.
As a youngster, we share-cropped tobacco. All the members of the family constantly walked the rows of tobacco alert for any evidence of hornworms. Those located were crushed between thumb and forefinger. Yes, we washed our hands before eating.
