Those little birds are so adorable.

In spring, they get "drunk" on fermenting berries (I forget what kind of plant), & land on the ground, reeling, easy game for any predator.

All they need is a safe haven until they sober up!

Yeah, I remember back in my EDS days those berry bushes were planted on the balconies. You could get pretty close to the Cedar Waxwings and they didn't have a care in the world. Luckily it was a pretty safe place for them to be.

Yes, the waxwings are in town! I have purple "rain" all over my car to prove it. But they do sound so happy while feasting on the berries from my ligustrum that I have to smile at their arrival.

Wonderful photos! I love them too -- purple poop and all. It easily washes away with the first rain.

I haven't noticed them at my house yet, but I expect they'll be around soon.

They've been around here for a bit over a month. Here are a couple of photos I got from last year. It's fun to watch them come in giant flocks to get a drink.

What wonderful photos! When hovering over them with the mouse they enlarge quite a lot and are so clear. I hadn't noticed that feature before. It's new with Howzz. Neat!
