Garf for good detailed close ups it is advised to use a camera with a macro setting. (The setting on the knob, or display that looks like a flower.) If you have a camera with the macro setting, and auto focus then make sure you have a way to steady the camera. Any movement while in macro mode will to some point blur the picture.

The macro setting helps a lot. It took me a year to routinely use it for close-up shots. But a tripod helps to. Between camera stabilization and a tripod (Walmart as a good one at $20), you can get really detailed close pictures.

Not a plant, but the details of the fur show how well even a cheap camera can capture an image with some help.

Cats are photogenic. I learned to use my first decent camera practicing on my cat.

I find that almost any picture I can take outside, with natural light, is better than any with unnatural light.

Of course professional photographers have the right equipment to take photographs with artificial light.
