All 4 seedlings of Batch 4 are up. The one in the lower left corner came up as a helmet head. I damaged it trying to remove it. I hope for the best.

Looking good so far. I'm glad Helmet head pulled through. Just curious how you decided which tomatoes originally to buy to get the seed? If you do enough of these and get the right varieties grown in Florida, you might end up with a decent OP strain that can handle some summer heat! Is the professional taste tester your employee or your boss ;-)

The soil is Promix BX. The residue is from Tomato tone mixed in water and fermented.

It takes a lot of guts to grow these tomatoes while everyone else is running around pushing heirlooms and hybrids (wanna shake your hand on that). Campari may be the "Mountain Magic hybrid" and the UglyRipe Tomato(TM), might be "Super Marmande", a more disease resistant version of the European heirloom. While the saved seeds may not be true, they very well could have the disease resistance and heat tolerance built into them. Most people don't realize, but if you get one you like, and keep growing it, you will start a family heirloom tomato just like has happened for 150 years, hybrid or OP, doesn't make any difference.

I like being able to taste a tomato before I plant it, as much as possible. So far I have found a few. I found a nice red cherry (Name ?) and Ananas Noire, not knowing the name at the time.

This year I am going to try couple more from those in the picture below. The dark one per PC is Black Cherry. Then there is Orange Cherry and Grape Yellow. I liked this one a lot. It is sweet and juicy.

I have also found a "mini Roma" looking grape that was very tasty. This one was not a Heirloom tho.

Batch 4 is coming along. They will most likely be replacements for those that don't make it.

One of batch 4 has been damaged. I think it's had it.

One of Batch 4 died. The rest are doing well except for leaf miner.

I pulled the plants from tub 2 and planted one batch 4 plant into tub 2 after adding some fertilizer. Now to see what happens when summer really hits.
