I tried it and both drawers had the same result. Heard a high pitched beeping, in time with a clicking sound, but nothing came out. It didn't stop until I turned the power back off. So it wasn't like it was trying to dispense something, I guess?
I tried changing the dispensing rates to the different levels just in case, but that didn't make any difference.

Other ideas?

The high-frequency beeping and clicking is the dispensers pulsing so they apparently are working to some extent. The sound can also be heard faintly when a dispenser activates during the final rinse, if one is paying attention at the right time. The dispenser pulses several times, possibly much as 5 times per each ml released (I've not counted exactly). Could be your dispensers are both clogged ... or broken such that the solenoids activate but don't dispense.

I've never run this diagnostic (don't want to be wasting rinse aid just to see how much is released). I cited the 1ml volume increments per what I vaguely recall, I didn't read through my service info to confirm it.

Access to examine or replace the dispenser mechanism is by removing the drawer front panel. Don't try to do that without directions if you don't already know how.

this doesnt help but may be of interest, I have a 2002 model, have kept it going with lots of help from various forums , also look after a couple of other family machines, but my rinse aid problem has beaten me..

Top drawer has not used any for many months, ran diagnostic check, could hear solenoid working (?) but nothing came out. set dispenser to max and tested again, ( it does about 40 pulses when set on max ..) still nothing.,

Removed whole unit, removed dispenser solenoid, dismantled the actual pump unit, dropped the little sping that came, nearly lost it, dropped one of the tiny little bubber pieces in side ..... cleaned everything, checked no blockage in the little orifices where the fluid flows, put back together retested , sound good but NOTHINGcomes out.

My better half says .. can't you just buy one? not much fun in that.

DId exactly the same with bottom drawer. We hardly ever use it so dont know how long it has not worked. ..

SO .. 3 or 4 hours later, better go and but a couple of new ones..

Mine doesnt work either. Brand new model. My previous Fisher Pykel dishwasher much better. Lasted 19 years. New machine dishes don't clean as well, rinse aide doesnt work and I hate the updated Racks. People when you have a good product stop innovating you made it worse. I'm upset!

I just replaced my rinse agent dispenser. I noticed the rubber hose attached to the unit was filled with water when I took it off. After pouring the water out from the line i tried to blow out but could not. Is this normal or does this line have another function? Thanks

You didn't cite a model number but presumably you're referring to a DishDrawer.

That rubber hose is for filling water into the drawer. Water flushes through the detergent cups to dispense it (only powder, pods and gels are not to be placed into the dispenser cups). There's a diverter mechanism that directs the incoming water flow through the proper cup during the various fill periods throughout a cycle. You can't blow through the hose because the other end is connected to the water inlet valve in the base of the unit.

And yes I have a two drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher, about 2 years old. Model DD24DV2T9N

They're solenoids. Operation is magnetic, they do not rotate during operation. One shifts the diverter for water inlet to flow through either the prewash or main wash detergent cup. The other dispenses rinse aid.

I found dadoes' comments on this thread helpful. However, my model is a DD60 and does not have the same buttons, so the settings and diagnostics instructions for my model are a bit different. I found the service manual for it to get the correct options.

To change settings, make sure there is no cycle running and press and hold the "WASH SELECTOR" (>>) and "START/PAUSE" buttons together for four seconds. This takes you to the rinse aid setting. The current rinse aid level is displayed on the LCD (e.g. rA4). Press START/PAUSE to change the setting (minimum 1 to maximum 5). Press the POWER button to save the setting and quit.

To enter diagnostics, make sure there is nothing displayed, then press and hold START/PAUSE slightly ahead of pressing and hold POWER. dP is displayed. Press WASH SELECTOR and HO (hardward output) is displayed. Press START/PAUSE and Er- is displayed. Keep pressing WASH SELECTOR until rd- (rinse aid pump option) is displayed. Press the Tub Select button to select which drawer to run the operation on. Press START/PAUSE to run the rinse aid pump on the selected drawer. The display will change to rdo and you will hear a clicking noise. To stop it, press START/PAUSE again and the display will change back to rd-. Press POWER (i.e. long press the drawer select button) twice to exit hardware output and diagnostics.

My dishwasher is about 5 years old and has also stopped dispensing rinse aid from both drawers. I have tried to clean out the rinse aid dispensers, but it is very difficult to get into them to clean them. I run the diagnostics and hear clicking but nothing seems to be coming out. I think I will need to place a service call to see if the technician can clean out whatever is blocking the dispenser.
