Hi everyone, I hope someone here can help with this question. Recently I received a set of used (no box) Slack & Barlow table knives from someone who doesn't know what they're made of, and he didn't know where they came from as he got them used also. The knives are in the kings pattern and say stainless steel on the blade, but the handles seem very lightweight for such a thick handle. The blades are not serrated, in case that info is useful.
I looked up Slack & Barlow and couldn't find much about them except that the firm dissolved in 1994. The Slack & Barlow stamp itself looks kind of sloppy to me, although I am no expert on this stuff. Can anyone tell me more about these knives, if they seem to be legitimate Slack & Barlow knives? Do the handles seem likely to be silverplate or something else? I've seen other Slack & Barlow pieces for sale online that look like this, with the same stamp, particularly on eBay and Etsy.
