February 2015 Quilting/Sewing Goals

Sorry for being late in getting February thread going. I did pretty well in January and since February is a short month, my list will be short, too.

Borders on Mackenzie's baby quilt
Start quilting Crystal's quilt
Start In's and Out's quilt for leaders/enders
Put all scraps in their proper place!
Send mail to Linda for February lotto (I missed January)

What are you thinking about doing this month?

Since I was so remiss in posting February's thread, I copied and will paste bdot's post that was on the January thread.....sorry. Sharon

Hi everyone, I am new to this quilting forum and this thread seems like a good place to start! My goals are:

Complete 2 small quilts to donate, from existing tops most likely.
    Participate in a group project
    Try free motion quilting
Go to at least 2 shows (one down, one to go!)
Take a quilt or design related class
Set up and organize my sewing room

I did reach my January goal of "improving" my sewing room and finished 2 UFOs.

For February I will continue to "improve" the sewing room, finish 2 UFOs, and catch up on cutting scraps into usable pieces.

I started a baby quilt today so that will need finishing. As will the spider web and the string top.
I will be happy to get those done.

    Hi.
In January, I did manage to get one big top quilted and bound. Feels good to have it all done.

Two more big ones to go. (thought it was just one more...my mind is scrambled!).

Hopefully, will get another full-size top quilted in February.
    That`s about it for me.

We are painting throughout the house and everything is
"ìn slings"......as my mom would say.
It's unbelievable how much stuff you manage to accumulate.
I will be sorting it and trashing some and donating a lot. We have clothes that we haven't worn in years. Some people would be so happy to have them, so why have them hanging in the closets gathering dust. I feel ashamed that I have kept them so long.

Hope all have a productive February.

This is what I would like to do in February:
    1. Get some more boxes out of my sewing room floor and clean off my sewing / computer desk.
    2. Hand-piece some more Granny Square Quilt blocks.
    3. Machine-piece some more Crazy Quilt blocks from scrap fabric.
    4. Learn how to make a quilted Christmas ornament.
    5. Unpack more boxes and decorate the walls of my sewing room with my nick nack shelves.
    6. Get mini-blinds for my sewing room windows.

    Best to you all,
    Sandra

Wow, you are all so productive and ambitious! I need yo clarify, my goals above are for all of 2015, not just February!

Finished my 2 UFOs. Now to clean up a bit.

I have done nothing on my list except work on the Ins and Outs quilt and make the border for Mackenzie's quilt. Tomorrow, really, I will sew the border on Mackenzie's quilt. I'm sure a UFO should get worked on this month, too. In my defense though, I've pretty much snoozed my way through the last few days and nights. We'll all just keep on keeping on.............

The only thing I have gotten done so far this month is hand-piece some Granny blocks. Hoping this weekend DH will hang my nik nak shelves in my sewing room.

    Best to you all,

    Sandra

    Baby quilt finished and gifted.

Spider Web has first border. Second will be the piano keys.

And the string quilt is waiting to be sandwiched. I just might accomplish my goals for this month.

Hey, peeps, it's the 15th of February already......more than half gone, February is. The border is on Mackenzie's quilt and I only need 6 more blocks for the Ins and Outs quilt. Something I don't remember doing before is to use blocks that are not square....but I like it. They are 8.5x10.5. So this week, I hope to get some quilt tops in the mail to a gal who will quilt them (for donation at Christmas time) and also lotto blocks to Linda. Then, I hope to start quilting the UFO and Mackenzie's quilt. There are so many quilts I want to make that I get myself confused on what to work on next. Life is tough, eh? :-) .....sigh.
