Very nice kitchen.I am a remodeling contractor and personally don't like the metal corners.They look tacky to me.Especially in such a nice kitchen.I would run the backsplash to the edge of the countertop with a vertical bullnose.Not wrapping the corner but flush with it.

Bullnose ceramic is increasingly rare, I find. So I would opt for an edging. Stainless steel to match the lights and hood could work. End it even with the wall. For a stone backsplash, the tilesetter can polish the ends.

Interesting top of cabinet lighting. I don't recall seeing that before, but I can't decide whether I like it or not.

Depending on the color of the backsplash, you might be able to get edging to match as it does come in several colors.

Assuming the right side of the upper right hand cabinet is an inch or two from the corner, I'd stop the splash there. I don't like the idea of running it all the way to the corner, because I think it would look awkward from the side. I'd cap the end with metal (Schluter), but any unobtrusive cap would be OK. Honestly, I'm more concerned about the way the hood isolates the upper right wall cabinet - it looks lost over there - and would think about continuing the tile up to the bottom of the hood, or even up to the top of the wall cabinets, to tie it into the rest of the cabinet line.

I agree with mag77. Stop the tile flush with the outside edge of the cabinets. As for how to treat the edge, it depends on what you're using for the backsplash. Do you know what you're going to use yet?
