So magically a 15% code showed up. I guess I had so e stuff in my cart and they wanted me to buy it. Creepy.

A couple years ago, Pottery Barn offered a promo that if you had a gift registry with them, after your event anything that hadn't been purchased off the registry you could order for yourself at a 10% discount. So if you were not in a big hurry, you could game the system by setting up a registry with an event date of the next day, putting the things you wanted on it, and waiting a couple days til they sent you the "you still have stuff on your registry, want to buy it at 10% off" email. Not sure if that still works anymore but it might be worth a try. It did work for a long time - I did it at least twice probably a year apart.

A recent Money Magazine blurb recently suggested leaving items in your virtual cart often prompts a discount from the company. They want your business especially during this time of the year. Since you received the 15% coupon , I guess MM was right and it pays to be patient.
