This is a kitchen I've had in my GW Clippings for years and I always smile when I come upon it. I love the table and comfortable chairs where I can envision sharing a cup of tea with a dear friend. What really gets me, though, is the fireplace.

I think it would be a lot of work and worry to use, but I am so charmed by it.

I have yet to see a kitchen with a big wall of windows over the counters that I don't covet.

I also really love old hardwood floors laid in interesting patterns or with interesting inlays. Gives a new kitchen some soul.

Also, when there is a dog in the kitchen. That makes me like the kitchen and the owner of said kitchen.

I'm with Jillius on the windows.

And switch the dog out for a cat.

I also love cats, but I already have one. Could never have a home without one.

My husband says our apartment is too small for a dog and that we can't have one till we get a house, so they particularly make my heart go pitter patter as the thing that is missing from our home.

Wood beam ceilings for me. So many different styles and yet they all look fantastic.

I agree with the fireplace. I have friends who used to have a house with two wood burning fireplaces in it. Loved it. If I could afford to have one added to this house I would in a second.

Also love the old wood floors, wide plank style. and windows.... ahh windows. But my husband is like a bat. he would have all the blinds/curtains closed. lol Loves the dark!

We put in a farm sink and my gosh I love that thing. The look of it, the feel of it, everything about it makes my heart flip.

Wow, have to copy Jillius with the windows and dog. Also, sleek, uncluttered surfaces.

I guess I'm missing a dog.
My kitchen has:
- 23ft wall of windows
- brick fireplace
- marble countertop
- no clutter (due to 2 DWs and great appliance garage)
- wood beam ceilings

We had wide pine flooring.
We removed it (to be used in master bedroom) when we put down the radiant heating and rift sawn white oak.

--> My love, especially right now = warm toes from the radiant heating.
