Family room and kitchen help

Hello! I need some help. I need to change up a few things in our family room and kitchen but don't know where to start. I feel like it's too busy! I really want to paint our cabinets white but don't know what color to paint the hutch in the kitchen... Any suggestions on things I could change in these two spaces? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

paint the cabinets the color of the hutch in the dining room!! the hutch is a nice off white that is better for your floors and wall color than a stark white. Update the pendant and dining light to something that fits more with your style. other than that, i think its pretty darn nice. ast to the family room, i would take down the wreath and remove the items from the mantel. and perhaps paint some of the frames in the bookcase to add some pop. try taking some of the things off the top of the hutch. and use them in the built in, taking a few of the smaller items out of there. i would have that teal vase with flowers on the table rather than drawing the eye up there for example. dress up the coffee table a bit too.

I enjoy this room it is soothing and not "too decorated". The space just is heavy with the dark cabinets. Consider a soft off-white for your cabinets or at least the uppers. Add a bulkhead and raise the crown on the uppers to upgrade and modernize. Try painting your hutch a really funky but soft colour that you love and works in this space (golds?) -so it stands alone as it should.

Take all the items off the top of your hutch and cabinets.
Put away items that do not need to be on the counters.
Paint the island the color of the hutch.
Take down the aprons and small items off your walls.

Part 2 :-)
Remove items from the mantle.
Paint the back of the shelves your main accent color (yellow?)
Remove some of the pillows, there are too many.

I think you have a lovely home. I really hate to see good cabinets painted. I would declutter (which just means taking the items you have on top of the hutch and cabinets down). I'd paint the walls rather than cabinets. Also how does anyone see the TV with the way your furniture is set up? It really doesn't belong over the fireplace too distracting. What is behind the white chairs? I'm looking for another place for TV in your room but not sure where it could go.

From what I can see your backsplash and counters may be better suited to your current cabinets than white. The lighting is what jumped out at me the most. Possible cabinet hardware as well. Something darker but a little more industrial might pop more and consider lighting in a darker finish as well.

Sadly, there really isn't anywhere the TV can go - our entryway is on the other side of the room! I wish it didn't have to be on the mantle, but there just isn't another option.
