I would skip the console table unless you need the storage and definitely agree with a large bold abstract print, or two side by side

I like the colors in this picture as it has the gold in the chandelier. My kitchen table is painted in this color of Annie Chalk Paint "Florence". I am not so sure about the flower though.

I really like a long, low console piece in a dining room. It not only grounds the space and gives you storage but it also offers an easy option for a buffet, candles and a table lamp that will add a soft glow to your meals. I suggest a single, horizontal piece of artwork and find the images from Lumas Gallery to be large and contemporary with a wide variety of price points. Hi melachuri, really like the clean, modern style of your dining room. I especially like the chandelier you've selected. I also like all the artwork that's been suggested for you. The one that Julia shows above (or something similar to it scale-wise) would be perfect for that wall IMO.....such a beautiful piece!
One question...how much space is there between that wall and your chairs? A console or shelf with artwork above as Decoenthusiate proposed would be my choice....but I'd want to make sure there was enough room for guests to get in and out of those chairs comfortably.

I dont think i will be able to have a console table. I have like 12 inches to the wall when the chairs are pulled out.

And the Jackson Pollack as seen. Am i not sure if these arts pieces go with my furniture.

I do not like the two together or, for that matter, the Jackson Pollock alone. This is why we say that art choice are very personal choices. Only you can choose Go with only one. The proper size.

I would try a long horizontal mirror to lighten the room. Also, try a different window treatment, perhaps curtains with à bold colour or pattern.

Good poster of a great Pollock painting. Consider buying it directly from the Albright Knox (Buffalo, NY) museum website where the painting hangs in their permanent collection. Buy the poster, frame it, and hang it in another location.

I am leaning toward The Red Twig stretched canvas print. If I were working in your space, I would order two Red Twig prints and play around with hanging them next to each other as a diptych, either edge to edge or a space in between. Thank you for incorporating the art into my picture. I am not a pink or fushia person. It would be too much of a shock to the boys in the family. I am the only girl in the house.

Put in a rather narrow, long cabinet with the top at chair-back height. Since you're doing modern, make it simple and clean, but wood.

Everybody on here seems to be trying to sell you art these days, and most of it is too "decorative." Art should be evocative, and also should be something you like or can live with. It shouldn't match your upholstery! Does your local art museum have a rental gallery? If you're not an "art person", consult a friend who is, or perhaps your art museum has someone you can talk to. Try and focus on what style of art you think you'd like, then find artists you like. Don't be afraid to have something in a historic gold frame to contrast with your modern furniture, or even no frame at all. Make sure you give it good lighting. This will be the centerpiece of your room. If you're not ready to commit, get a big framed mirror.

No furniture, just a big artwork with colors will turn your room warmer and give focus.

I actually have a rug that has a little of fushia, browns and purple in it. When you suggested fushia i totally forgot about this rug. In fact, it is there because my husband and I love the colors (not too feminine or bland). Its a very old rug.

If you have enough space for a console, add it. Then add a mirror above it. Alternatively (no console) hang a grid of smaller mirrors to make a big impact for not a lot of $. The only difficult part is getting the grid to hang perfectly ;)
