How did you finish the wood countertop to protect it from water damage? What products do you recommend?
Thanks!

These counter tops were finished with a mixture of polyurethane and boiled linseed oil. The polyurethane protects the counter tops from water damage but it is not entirely impermeable to water. In order to create an even stronger barrier to water, the counter top would probably need to be finished in something like a bar top resin coat.

Hello . Beautiful kitchen .love the farm sink .what brand is it and where can I find this farmhouse sink . I am having a hard time picking a farmhouse sink .enamelled cast iron sink vs fiery clay . Enamelled cast iron would be more durable then the fiery clay because fiery clay can crack chip and brack more easily then cast iron can .but hard to find one .kohler has one ,but only in one style and the inside of the base is slanted inside which I do not like at all pluse it takes up space . What kind of sink do you have and what do you think about it .i have teenagers that aren't actactly that careful with things either so its a big delemma . thanks

We have had our Boos hard rock maple butcher block counters for over 20 years. We used a food safe Salad Bowl Finish when they were installed and we refresh it by sanding down lightly and recoating (2 coats usually) about every 5 years. They look even better than brand new. Here's our most recent refresh.
