Another picture

It's hard to tell from the photos, but it kinda looks like tea scale. Check the undersides of the leaves to see if there is any white scale underneath.

Another possibility is that the leaves are virus-variegated. Nothing to worry about if so- it doesn't seem to affect the health of the plant, and sometimes just goes away on its own.

Pretty blooms in the second photo- do you know what the variety is?

No white scales underneath the leaves. I noticed there are a couple more leaves are changing color also. You are right, the blooms are very beautiful; it would be a shame to lose the plant. Here is another picture of one of the blooms. I would also like to know the name. Thanks.

The virus doesn't seem to affect plant health, and the discoloration may eventually go away. I don't know what the variety is, but maybe someone else will have an idea.

Many camellias (and other plants) have variegated foliage and flowers. Sometimes it's genetic and sometimes it is caused by a non-harmful virus. In cases of viral variegation it can be introduced into the plant through grafting, but with genetic, it's just in the genes. Sometimes variegation affects foliage and flowers, sometimes just the flowers, and sometimes it's just the foliage. I think this is the case in your photo. Many consider it a desirable effect. Consider it like freckles on the nose of cute redhead!

As long as the plant is otherwise healthy, I see no reason to worry about it. I don't see scale.
