You'll get far better answers if you update your page with your location shown (and zone for future posts). If you're in the mountains or the plains and can add cultural information such as what your soil type and ph are then all the better.

Sequoiadendron does have a tendency for normal, winter bronzing to some degree I do believe if memory is serving me correctly... but I do not recall if that happens within it's natural range, or, only outside where climates are not similar. As to the reasons why, I'm not 100% sure, but I would venture a guess that excess precipitation alone may have an effect.
