That's impossible to answer. Depends on who's doing it and where you're located and other factors, too. There's no one fit all answer. If you don't sew, you can't predict a time frame. What do you mean by shorten? Are you talking length or width? If you're talking length, a dry cleaner may be your best option.

Are they lined? Are they underlined? Do they have drapery weights?

The dry cleaner I worked for expected seamstresses to do about $45 worth of work per hour. I would estimate it would take maybe 30 to 40 minutes apiece. Other employers expected seamstresses to do $60 per hour. Given those estimates, it could be anywhere from 40 to 55-60 dollars. A seamstress working out of her home may charge less.

Sorry yes I meant shorten length, I gave the width so we knew approx how much work they had to do.

I did not know they might do this at a dry cleaner. Never had it done before. Thank you for the advice and estimates!
