I recently moved into a house that doesn't have much in the way of trees or shrubs for birds to perch on. To give birds a place to perch near our bird feeders, I'm hoping to plant a vine that will grow up the columns of the porch that will give the birds a place to perch near the feeder. The porch is in the shade (facing north) and situated by some clay soil (but well-drained). Are there any good suggestions for a shade-loving vine that would work well? It'd be great if the vine also produces flowers and berries that support hummingbirds and other types of birds, but that may not be feasible given the constraints.
