Decorate them to look like the real ones, and don't forget to clean them and their decor when you clean the real ones so they won't start to look bad. Personally, I'd remove the fake ones from the design. I gather it is the three on the main house that are fake, and I don't think you'd miss them in the overall design because you have no shortage of windows. Please be sure to use functional, not stick on fake, shutters all around.

oh gosh, fake dormers. reminds me of the wild west towns that had the fake facades over the saloon and general store.

i go with take them off the plans. it's really stupid.

We have two fake dormers on our second story and as long as you use the same building materials, you won't be able to tell they are fake (no one can see into these small windows on a second story, so no need for decor or window dressings). It's important not to use cheaper materials b/c they aren't used. Make sure all the windows have the same light pattern - we replaced all our windows and used an architect to help with the pane spacing, etc. Windows can make or break a home (and they are so $$$ so best to get w an architect for all the specs).

And be prepared for more insensitive comments like nnigrt. Your house looks beautiful and haters will always hate.

you mistake me. the house IS beautiful. thats why it doesnt require fake dormers.
