Sometimes Simple is Good

Hello all,

Phew, this change has been tough on our crew hasn't it?

I wanted to share some pictures of part of our home team doing the mundane and making memories at the same time. Our littlest two love our new dishwashing "system" since we went kitchen-sink free a couple of weeks ago! Enjoy. : )

I have fond memories of washing dishes with my sisters, singing and (sometimes) arguing. We had a sink though!

I'm the eldest of five, and I can tell you that we did not do dishes quite as peaceably! You have a beautiful family. :)

Is someone playing dress-up, too? Cute. And hey! A Berkey!

What delightful children you have, laughable! Thanks for reminding us that most things can be good or bad even having no sink and forum switches, it's all what you make of it. :)

So sweet! It's always the most simple moments that are the most meaningful.

All your ducks are certainly in a row. They're adorable....hi ho, hi ho, off to work they go.

I've got to ask...do they all ask you to braid their hair like Elsa? All my nieces now want long hair, so they could have braids! So glad you posted pictures....your daughters are lovely :)

Glad you all are enjoying the pictures. That's always the challenge isn't, Tea4all, to keep things in proper perspective?

It is a team effort, Romy. Especially that day, when we let things slide and didn't do dishes the night before- OY! Then it's a big job.

That's neat you've got good memories of cleanup with your sisters, Nancy. I was an only, so my memories are of drying dishes for my mom. At the time I wasn't thrilled, but I look back fondly on those times, now.

Well, full disclosure, Mama Goose, there was some squabbling a few minutes before I shot these photos! For the most part, they do work nicely together, though.

You mean the long apron, Deedles? It's a favorite! Hey, you recognized the Berkey. So many people think it's a GIANT coffee carafe, LOL.

So true, Funkycamper. A lot of life is what we make of it.

Lcskaisgir (phew, had to check that one a few times), it's funny, but doing dishes this way really does feel more fun. It's much more social. And splashier. Hey, you could give it a shot--maybe your boys would take to it??

    Thanks Dawn!

So true, rebeccamomof123. These are the things I want to remember.

LOL, magsnj. Hi ho, hi ho, there are even 7 of them! (2 somehow escaped dish duty.)

Thank you all for your sweet words. I do love this work crew!

Thank, LL. "I've got to ask...do they all ask you to braid their hair like Elsa?" I'm lost, forgive me. Who is Elsa? (I thought Elsa was a lion....now I'm probably showing my age....) Sometimes they like to do braids, when we take the time for it. Some days, well, we're lucky if the little ones get their hair brushed. Yikes.

If you don't know....I envy you! LOL Elsa and Anna are sisters in the Disney movie, Frozen.
