Refrigerator ice hookup ?

We are building a new home with hardwood floors on the first and second floor. I don't know if i should hook up the ice maker in the refrigerator, i am worried that it will leak someday [like my other one did] and ruin my hardwood floors under the refrigerator and possibly my cabinet since it will be built in. I do like having it but not if it will cause problems in the future, please help!

We had a leak in our ice machine while we were out of town and suffered severe damage. Our suggestion is to have a metal pan with drain under refrig. In new construction pretty easy to do.

We had a leak that ruined our subfloor under vinyl plank flooring. I suppose it was a blessing in disguise as it triggered our renovation that is slowly morphing into a whole house renovation.

We didn't hook the ice maker back up after that.
