Can I put this in my shower?

I have a teak vanity and I was thinking of running this vertically, from floor to ceiling, as a 12" column, in the shower.

Teak is used on the decks of ships and there are many teak bath benches etc out there too. So I don't see why not. Sounds beautiful. However it does require some work to maintain. Oiling or sealing. So are you willing to do that as it will otherwise fade and discolor as it ages and is exposed to water.
