the problem with moving the tv is that it has a large back end and can't be mounted on the wall. but we're trying to find a new tv right now though.

I would consider dry wall and patching the pass through that is totally un needed there. and put the wall mount on a swivel so it can be slightly tilted left when needed. also it would go a little closer to the FP than the right side wall. but i like it. it could be its own media center, plus now the sofa faces to the focal points and no more neck straining to watch tv!

I like this too, but I don't think you need to close in the pass through if you move the stand and TV closer to the fireplace. The other little stand can go on the other side of the room and you could hang your photo over it. The room is really starting to come together noW, I am getting excited to see the finished results.

It's getting there, but too much in one place. You need to move the stand on the right wall (place it where the TV stand was and try the poufs in front of it) and the picture (perhaps take the mirror down and put the picture over the fireplace?). Then move the TV to the same height as the openning in the wall. That should be it for placement.

I like the one on the right, but will it fit next to the fireplace? If you use it, you wouldn't have to hang the TV, but make sure the TV would be at a comfortable height. See if you can get it to match the other stand, as close in color as possible but not matchy-machy.

Just make sure you don't do like me and blow the budget. It's hard not to when you think you are just spending a few dollars but when you do that with each item it can really add up!

we're also deciding to get a tv with monthly payments.

If you move the small stand to the other side of the room, you could angle the TV stand a little and then you wouldn't need to get a new one right away. It is hard to decide what to do first when doing an entire room, but it is a little like remodeling a home, live with it for a while then decide what you need to do now and what can wait a little while. That pay as you go is handy but figure out your interest paid and it will probably be cheaper to just save the money and wait for a sale.

Lke what? DIYs can be tricky if you don't know what your doing! My brother replaced a window in his bedroom last summer and is still trying to finish the wall it was put in! His first attempt at DIY and he is getting very discouraged. We just laugh at him as we told him to ask for help but he is too stubborn.

I hate peel and stick wood, it usually doesn't look very good on a wall. If you want to use real wood, which is expensive, try and find a plywood that is good on one side. Plywood can be bought with all kinds of woods as the top layer but even a plain everyday plywood can be found with a great grain wood that can be stained or just varnished. Look before you leap, if you're not sure about the plywood get a small piece and try different finishes so you can see what I mean.

In re: the old a/c hole. Check it out on the www. There are step by step instructions for doing most everything. Start with "how to patch drywall" and go from there. You are given a list of tools and material to prevent frequent trips to Ace Hardware or Lowe's.

Get your tape measure and shop the the thrift stores. Try to think outside of the box and you might just find a piece of furniture that would work for a console. A long and low dresser, a table with fold down leaves, etc. could work. If you don't like the finish you could paint one of the colors from the poufs. Your room is really coming together!

I like the idea of using one of the pouf colors somewhere.

We were recently shopping for a new console and coffee table and on the way to the furniture store, we stopped at a consignment shop. We found both items, and they cost less than what one item would have cost at the furniture store. I am planning to paint and change out knobs on the console we purchased, but even doing that we are way ahead as far as cost.

I love shopping at consignment and secondhand stores. There are so many things you can use for other than what they were meant for. Thinking outside the box!

I was thinking last night that if you used a piece of plywood for the TV mount, you could see if you cold find some material that matches or compliments the poufs and use that to cover the wood.

so, I learned it's going to be a good minute before we expose the wood floors. they're in great shape though. but I would like to know what kind of accessories can be added to this space.

It's too early to tell. So much depends on the color of the floor and lighting.

Did you check to see what is going on with the sofa? If it is going to be a while, but is still coming, don't rush it. It will give you time to do other things without worrying about it being in the way. Are you going to change the fan out? And have you found someone to haul the fridge away? Also what did you decide to do about a wall patch? I know, questions, questions, questions! One more, are you ready for a break down yet?? He, he.

we found someone to haul the fridge, also found out the sofa will be here in probably a week due to all the weather conditions and we're going to fix the a/c hole a little later but it will be done. we're still looking for a new fan.

I really do like the poufs, they give you a wonderful assortment of accent colors to choose from. Did you discuss the DIY project for the TV ? If so, what did you decide? Did you have any ideas of your own when you started this? I kind of worry that you might take all the advice literally but it is your room and your dream, so listen but decide for yourself. And have fun.

how tall are your ceilings? 9 ft? looks to be...and where are you looking? online or at a box store? I would go down to a 44 inch fan. it is a better size/scale for the room. and save you some $

Hi traveler47. Hope all is going well. My daughter-in-law and the four grandkids have been ill for two weeks now and her's has turned to pneumonia but the kids are getting better except for baby Cooper, he now has an infection in his chest and needs to use a breathing mask (which he hates, he's only two). This time of year is hard on everyone, the weather is so changeable. Keep your spirits up and remember we are thinking of you.

thank you for your concern, we're truly greatful for it. we found out one of our young cousins came down with a cold and while at the doctor found out he had bronchitis and a hernia down in his lower abdomen that sent him into surgery.

Had hernia surgery a few years ago, nothing to it, so he should be just fine. Tell him for me to milk it for all he's worth because he will recover very quickly. As for the bronchitis, just make sure he doesn't breath cold air until it clears up. Good to hear from you, I was starting to think something was very wrong.
