What do the local zoning setbacks require? Your local permits office? The HOA? No one not familiar with your community can tell you your answers. However, yes, plenty of narrow homes could possibly be designed to work with a lot of that dimension IF the local municipality deems the lot to be buildable.

My very first house had a footprint of 22' x 22'. It was built on a lot 30' wide. I loved that house! It was a 2 story with a basement but also about 100 years old.

It backed up to an alley, so that's where the garage was. A two-car garage. I am not 100% sure of what the length of the plot was. Maybe 120'.

You would need to know what your setback requirements are, etc. If it is 5 feet on either side then you only have 20' for the width of the dwelling. Maybe that's enough! You could build a shotgun style house on it.

Much of Europe works with plots this big. They have different easement rules (which is what you must find out if you want to do this) and their architects are better versed in these challenges...but it is certainly more than doable.

Long thin houses are also seen in expensive communities like Vancouver BC, Toronto ON, etc. I've seen "townhouses" with dimensions that fit with this plot (long, tall and narrow). You might be able to adapt the foot print of a townhouse to meet the requirements of your lot (any architect should be able to get this done for you).
