Painted cupboards

I painted these oak cupboards in my dining room. I love how hey turned out. I used Annie Sloan French Linen with Minwax Jacobean stain rubbed over. I finished with Minwax satin polycril.

Here is there whole room. It has a big window and awesome lights but I can't get a good photo from this direction. My friend thinks all of the mirrors need moved up about 5-6 inches. Anyone agree?

I wish I would have bought a lighter bamboo shade, but now that the blind is hung, I probably won't attempt to get hubby to take it down and re -hang.

I had stripped and sanded the top of my oak table and restained with a mix of Minwax weathered oak, classic gray, and Jacobean. The base is painted with Annie Sloan Old Ochre.

I love the look. I think I would have painted the top as well. Is there anyway we can see a close up of the paint?

The top of the cupboard is a wood-look laminate. I hope to replace it, but may consider painting it if we can't replace it soon.

Those look terrific! I like the wood toned top, esp. with the frames above it, but can see why you'd want to replace the laminate. Great work!

Eureka! Just yesterday, I looked for your other post. Since the transition to Houzz took place, it seemed to have fallen off the posting page. Do me a favor and repost the recipe for that wonderful table again.

I am sure that a farther out picture that includes the table and stenciled wall would be lovely to see it all together.

You have worked a lot to put together a very pretty room, ENJOY

Oh, my goodness! They look amazing! You have convinced me to do my icky kitchen cabs! I rather like the wood top, esp. with those mirrors ,but black would look really cool too.

Your cabinets look beautiful! I love the color. You should be very proud of yourself! I like the wallpaper too. I agree with your friend, I'd move the mirrors up a little bit. Nice job!

Wow, what a great job. I like the way your process has left the grain showing but it isn't screaming oak.

Re the mirrors. I would consider moving the middle one down to be even with the other two. I like the way they mimic or allude to almost resting on the buffet. my 2c for what that's worth!

The room looks really nice.
