I am using similar colors in my new kitchen remodel.....espresso island and antique white with a chocolate glaze for the cabinets. I am so glad I saw this kitchen to help me pick out a good paint color for the walls.

I am considering using Tony Taupe in my foyer and family room, but I don't want it to look yellow. The Tony Taupe looks a little yellow here. Is there something in this room that makes it look yellow?

Hi J, Yes...Light! If you look closely, You can see the yellow in it! If you don't like this color try a tester of Sherwin Williams Mega Greige #7031 and see if that suits you! Just be careful of the Grey/Browns with no richness to them...they can make your home and your outlook quite dreary!!! :) Hope that helps! Jo

Thanks for the advice! How do these compare to SW utterly beige? I don't want something that looks yellow or purple or too grey.

Utterly Beige is a nice color, so is Kilim Beige, Barcelona Beige and Windsor Greige! You could go crazy picking beiges! That's my point...just remember this...your paint should simply be a nice background color to all of your things in the room so if you are looking at beiges...test them on the wall in big sections (your going to paint anyway) and look at them morning, noon and night. Find one that looks good with the fabric and art, go for it and then decorate! You cant go wrong with any of these colors if you add color and life to the room! Those things will become the star of the show...:) Hope that helps! Jo

I absolutely love this kitchen and the look of this color above the doorway! The entire thing is beautiful! I am amazed that it is Tony Taupe. I even went to Sherwin Williams today, and the associate there even said that he thought it was either Totally Tan or Tatami Tan, instead of Tony Taupe. I would really like a warm/rich color, as I am trying to transform my very large kitchen to look a lot like this. In looking at the paint samples, I think the Tony Taupe is not for me. I am trying to do a lot of the same colors with cabinets and floors as this picture. Would you have a recommendation for Sherwin Williams Totally Tan or Tatami Tan if I wanted the entire room to try to look more like the warm color above the doorway? Thank you very much for your thoughts! I love this!

Hi there sdmgrace, I've said it before, light plays such a huge factor in a room. Go get and test the paint on the wall...paint large areas and see what it does. If Tatami and Totally are too rich, half formula them or mix your own color! Benjamin Moore has has a color you may love...it's called Baked Cumin # 1062. The biggest thing to remember is that paint is just a background..it's not the star of the show! It's easy to obsess about paint so try not to drive yourself mad!
