Looks like a well thought out space with lots of storage. Your colors are good neutral ones, so choose an accent color and run with it.......slate blue? Red? Get some fun little canisters for the counter, a rug or two for the kitchen area and then the art for the dining area with the same colors. Roman blind for the kitchen sink space in those same colors you are choosing.

I wouldn't do black appliances with the dark cabinets and darks floor either, especially in a smaller kitchen. Would probably do stainless steel and use orange/brick color accents to bring it together. Oh, I love your kitchen floor.

You floors and cabinets and counters will be dark, dark table and chairs, and only one window over the sink. There will be no contrast at all in this space and it will be like a cave. I would not do dark appliances. Also upgrade to the best lighting package offered, not just those spots, and lots of under cabinet lights. Maybe some up lights over the cabinets.

Thanks all for your comments. The first pic is of the cabinet color and the countertop. the 2nd pic is of the color of the vinyl floor for the kitchen and the hardwood in the dining room. hopefully that makes a difference. i still want to add more color.

I still don't think I would do dark cabinets because the kitchen opens into the living room that does have dark floors. I think it's gonna make the space look smaller. But, it's much better than when I thought you were gonna go with dark floors in the kitchen.
