what should I do with this empty space in my 1/2 bath?

I have this large empty space in my 1/2 bath that is under a stair case. It bothers me and I'm not sure what I should put there. what do you think?

Wouldn't a really sweet wicker or wood shelf unit look good here?

nice open shelving for towels and display, in same woodtone as your vanity or dark like the frames on your picture and mirror. could have lower doors to hide extra toilet paper & toiletries or do that with baskets
