Budget?

Unless your budget prevents it, and you may also need new cookware, induction is the better choice. Convection is always useful in an oven. It helps get rid of uneven spots. Much better if you can turn it off, however, for making things like souffles and angel food cakes.

Go for induction As pillog says, you might needs some new pots

Last night, I made awesome blackened swordfish on ours Amazing!!

I can boil water quickly, slow cook, braise, sauté, etc!

Amazing technology and so easy to clean!

hvtech42, our budget is about 2 to 3K, Thank you everyone! I do like the idea of the induction, and convection...

Under $3k is a bit tight for a slide in induction, but if you can squeeze the budget a bit I would highly recommend going induction. I have the Electrolux induction and I would never use anything else.

Do make sure your cookware is compatible first, though, and replace if it isn't.

I agree with plllog about freestanding induction vs. slide in radiant glass top, but I also want to point out that the slide in Electrolux induction has a much more full featured oven than the freestanding. It has the Wave Touch controls, a probe, a baking drawer, and a bunch of other cooking modes.

Oh! I'm glad you mentioned that, HV. Definitely more than looks then, if you have the money to get the slide-in.
