How about some kind of decal; you have a lot of art in the duvet cover and pillow cases, which by the way is absolutely gorgeous.

Once you decide what style you want, look on Google for "high resolution public domain art" You can find some really great stuff to print out and frame yourself. You get the image you want in the size you want.

Bird print would keep with your theme without being too much of the same.

Thanks for the suggestions....really like the idea of some birds.

love love love your bedding. i'd change the scale for art, have nothing in your art the same size as the flowers/butterflies in your bedding. one large bird, for example, instead of ones the same size as would be pictured in your bedding, if it contained birds.

Depending on your sense of humor, a modern or folk art Adam and Eve would be fun.

    Tulips? Framed in white frames?

    I absolutely love your beautiful
linen. But, please do not try to match your Art to it. While there is no hard
rule, it is good to bear in mind that Art is the sublime expression of one soul
that appeals to another soul or not. It is a language. Yes, it is also
decorative but primarily it should transport us to a level much removed from
the mundane and tangible. As such it need not find any connection to the
mundane and tangible around it. It operates in a different sphere altogether
.You are legitimately able to have your absolutely stunning bed linen on one level
and fabulous speaking Art on another and both will co-exist perfectly together
without having to trespass on each other’s turf i.e. ‘match’.

    Be free – choose whatever
transports you personally – there are no rules.
Matching art will just take your lovely room away from individual haven
and into the realm of hotel reception, doctor’s waiting room and bank corridor
where the so-called art usually matches to perfection but hardly
anyone actually notices let alone is moved by it. Choosing Art is a
visceral decision and the good thing is that in the end it is one that
    needs please only you.

You seem to appreciate color. Check out my colorful palette at: wow.juliacarterart.com

Get anything that you like. Bed sheets change. You shouldn't base your art on the bed sheets. Anything you like will work

Now this one would definitely be perfect

couldnt disagree more, printesa. new comforters and shams are expensive, and she has chosen to make a colorful statement. no sense in not having the art be complementary for the next 8-10 years.

Genevieve: I'd be glad to create something like this for over your bed. What dimensions would be ideal? It would be a custom piece. Colors and size can be altered to best suit your space.

nnigrt, the photo that I see above looks like duvet covers and shams, which get washed and changed. I'm not saying that she should get several sets of sheets, but I wouldn't buy a piece of art to match something that will eventually be changed. I'm sure people have at least two sets of shams and sheets.

ok, fair enough, maybe she does, i do not. but i dont do duvet, i do a comforter with matching shams, which get changed seasonally rather than with the sheet and pillowcases weekly. the art, rugs, wall paint matches my winter set and my summer set. you are correct, i cant guess how much she changes out this bedding.

I have more than one set of duvet cover and shams, but they are pretty neutral. For art, I have something I like and 'speaks' to me, so that is why I said that she should get something that she would love to look at. Art is a very personal choice

Thanks to all for your input. I am actually helping a friend and this is for her winter home in the desert. She also liked the idea of birds and has decided that parakeets would be a good (colourful) choice to compliment the bedding. Based on the feedback as far as image size and everything I am going to do an acrylic on canvas painting for her. If she loves it....which hopefully she will....I will post a photo. Thanks again for the input.

mjd232, as I had already started thinking about it, may I say - if you used desert color from bedding you could add an abstract bird in a blue [this reminds me of a bird is all]. :)

Love the bedding. Why not try and goggle springtime flowers, fine one that is not to busy, download and have it blown up and glue it onto a big canvas, inexpensive and can easily be changed, or in last pic some dried flowers arranged over the bed, keep it simple, even a lovely decal, just some ideas

Thanks for sharing. I think the parakeets are adorable. Job very well done.
