How to deal with post-snow water damage?

Recent northeast snow storm has caused some water leakages in my house. Also I do see some roof damage as well. I will have to deal with insurance company on this. What I need is the advice how to arrange the repair. I have already hired a contractor to remove heavy snow from my roof ($650). Now the water damage control company contacts me to perform the 'dry-up'. They will send technician first to estimate the cost and perform the job right-away. They will take down the dry wall but won't restore it. It will be arranged to another contractor based on insurance company's adjustor's suggestion. Another thing is that the roof, I do see there some shingles are damaged but it is still not to easy to find roofer to come over for any estimate work since we are still in February and winter is not over yet.

My question is that how to sequence out the estimation work and the repair work? Insurance company will consider all work need to be performed within one month as one claim.

Thanks!
