Unfortunately, I am a Canadian displaced to Austin, Texas. Which means that I am not going to be doing a kitchen in Vancouver. But I am going to be doing a kitchen in Austin and I had not seen such a solid white stain before. I don't want white that is painted because it can chip, nor do I want that "thermafoil" (I think it's called that). Your stain in the photo doesn't have any wood grain showing and it doesn't look white washed. So, I was wondering what stain it was.

You can not tell from the photos, but there is subtle woodgrain and it is not solid. Unfortunately the stain is exclusive to a local supplier. The majority of my kitchens are painted wood and haven't had an issue.
