Thanks for your inquiry. All sizes of our gazing globes are completely sealed and will float in water. These are welded to form a sphere and polished to a very shiny 'mirror finish'. As for the seam; there is never an edge that could be caught with a fingernail or similar glaring seam. Generally the seams are smoothed out to be barely perceivable, but due to the reflectivity of the high polish, even small imperfections can be noticed if you're looking for them. Often you can somewhat make out where the seam was, but they do get highly finished to minimize any seam work. I hope this is helpful information!
