Started the hydro garden

last modified: 11 years ago

I watched Bobby grow long enough and got busy. I bought a small cheap GH from Ebay and built a dutch bucket set-up and started the Kratky lettuce. I did cheat and buy plants but I have seeds started for replacements. I'm amazed at the growth of my tomatoes and the lettuce is slowly picking up pace. All the plants were grown in soil and the tomatoes never missed a beat but the lettuce did have some transplant shock. Here's a few pics

I bought these tomatoes on 17 Feb, washed off the soil and planted in perlite

It's just 8 buckets and I'll probably end up moving these outside but I think I need a bigger GH cause this will be the norm during winter.

FYI. I've been using my homemade incubator to start seeds in for a few years and it usually takes 3 days to sprout anything, this is an old wine chiller with the parts from a cheap styrofoam incubator I bought at tractor supply.
