That tile goes color wise, but it is busy.

no to the op's choice, and most of carolins' suggestions are lovely but i think a solid solid with low contrast grout is the way to go. not everything in a kitchen should stand up and say LOOK AT ME, some times a backsplash is just a backsplash.

I think a metal backsplash would be pretty. You can get it textured or patterned too.

The back splash you are showing is too dark and too busy, the counter top is too busy as it is, I like the glass tile that was posted, although i would stay on the lighter side, so that it is not too dark, if you have a swatch of the counter top you can take that with you to the tile store, or take a real good picture and print it out, not sure how much light is in your kitchen, you may want to test the combination in all light view of the day. especially when it is darker in the room,

jacinto, its not too hard, you just were down a blind alley in my opinion, going with multicolors. when you go back stick to the solids and then you only have to decide on how light or dark to go or how shiny/matte.
