Thought painting cabinets would be easier than staining darker ... Like idea of may hung cabinets to cool new cabinet but not in judges right now

Grey was one of the color that came to my mind. Next choice would be the color that is on the tv nook (The nook is very modern looking. Nice! I agree with some of the other posts, to change the kitchen wall color to a neutral.

Nope! reason being... Your kitchen looks like it gets plenty of nice sunlight. Change the green wall color tro a nice tan or beige color instead.

Love your new TV nook. I agree that the matching cabinets would be fabulous! Don't be afraid to go dark! You can always lighten up the paint color if needed (I would go with something more gray or taupe over tan/beige- I think that would be too bland. But, I hate tan and beige so I'm biased!). Even that same tone of green in a lighter shade can lighten it up if it turns out too dark for you.

Try the Rustoleum cabinet transformations kit to stain your cabinets. I'm sure you'll find a match for the cabinet. If you do choose paint, I wood go with a vintage white or cream color.

If you are going to change the color then make hem match. Making them gray will match less than now. I'd paint the walls a neutral color
