Options for purchase

I am intersted in purchasing this home. The interior is great and doesn't need much to make it a great little home. I do not like the exterior, but think it could be remodeled to be a great little craftsman. Does anyone have any input on adding a front porch with a new roof line? The first picture is the house, and the second is what I have in mind. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
