a kitchen that is open to a dining room/ living room that has the narrow oak floor planks of the 1960s which are a dark walnut stain.
Would the flow from the darker floors to this be too abrupt?
I want the floors to coordinate but not necessarily match in a dark color or would matching the stain look best. I used paint as the cheapest tool to temporarily fix this horrible drab kitchn; light gray on panel walls, white trim, yellow ceiling, soft bluish green on lower cabinets; white on uppers; very modern nickel cabinet pulls, removed some doors, did a silver tin backsplash, and a faux cararra marble tile over the old laminate counter. o yeah and reds in there as well, iron hanging light, and a lighter color wood work bench that serves as an island.
