Not weird at all. It's a good use of space. If it works for you, don't let others convince you otherwise. The house I grew up in had a combined bathroom and laundry room adjacent to an outside door. Very convenient for getting out of dirty clothes and cleaning up.

I have a combined bath/laundry in my basement. it was the best option for use of space we had, we could not have 2 separate rooms. we did buy full size stackable units though because our space was very limited. stacking takes up very little room but you don't have the counter space.

Definitely utilize stacking units and get back the corner space as usable real estate. @Eric Owens
